MULCHING SERVICES
Mulch is one of the most powerful and cost-effective tools in professional landscape maintenance. It suppresses weeds, retains soil moisture, regulates soil temperature, and gives every planting bed and tree ring a clean, finished look. Royal Magnolia Landscaping provides professional mulching services for homeowners, HOAs, and commercial properties.
We supply and install high-quality mulch in a variety of types and colors to complement your existing landscaping — all applied at the optimal depth for maximum effectiveness and a polished appearance.
Mulch Types We Install
Hardwood Mulch - A popular all-purpose option that breaks down slowly and decomposes into beneficial organic matter. Available in natural brown and dyed red, black, or brown.
Pine Straw - Lightweight, long-lasting, and excellent for slopes. A regional favorite for flower beds and shrub borders.
Pine Bark Nuggets - Chunky, attractive, and slow to decompose. Great for decorative beds and areas with good drainage.
Rubber Mulch - An eco-friendly, long-lasting option often used in play areas and high-traffic zones.

How often should mulch be refreshed?
Most organic mulches should be refreshed annually or every other year as they break down. Rather than piling on new mulch over old, we recommend removing or turning old mulch first and applying a fresh layer to the ideal depth.
How much mulch do I need?
The general rule is 2–3 inches of depth for most applications. Our team will measure your beds and calculate the exact volume needed so you're not over- or under-mulched.
Can too much mulch harm my plants?
Yes — "volcano mulching" (piling mulch against tree trunks or plant stems) traps moisture, promotes disease, and can slowly kill plants. Royal Magnolia Landscaping always applies mulch correctly, keeping it a few inches away from trunks and stems.
Can you handle large commercial properties?
Absolutely. Our fleet of commercial equipment is designed to handle properties of all sizes efficiently and professionally.
Our Mulching Process
Before installing new mulch, our team clears the area of old, compacted mulch, weeds, and debris. We then apply a clean, even layer at the ideal 2–3 inch depth — enough to suppress weeds and retain moisture without smothering roots. We carefully pull mulch away from tree trunks and plant stems to prevent rot and pest harborage.
